When we go off island the days usually get filled up with appointments and shopping and driving. It is a delightful luxury when there are blocks of time where there is nowhere to be and nothing needing immediate attention. After a quick early morning appointment I had time for breakfast before the next appointment. There was a place I’ve driven past dozens of times but had never stopped at but had heard it was good. I headed there. What a joy! The place was cute, the staff friendly and efficient. The food really good and the coffee excellent. It was a win on so many levels and I look forward to making the place a regular stop on my days off island. When we are the ones caregiving, trying to make someone else’s life comfortable and safe, it is truly wonderful to find a place where we feel safely nourished and looked after, if only for a meal and a bit of time.

Being pampered and cared for - even if “only” for the length of a meal or even a coffee and pastry - can be immensely fortifying to your spirit! Glad you found a new favorite place!
